Same-day English-language GP care, seven days a week, for expats, international residents and visitors in Spain and across the EU.
Dr. Pedro Yelamo Vera now offers English/Spanish video GP consultations every day, 7:30–20:30, for expats, residents and visitors in Spain and the EU.

BILBAO, Spain – 27 October, 2026 – Dr. Pedro Yelamo Vera, a Spain-licensed general practitioner who provides bilingual English/Spanish video consultations, has extended his practice to seven days a week, with appointments available every day from 7:30 to 20:30 (Spanish time). The change, in place since 18 October 2026, means English-speaking expats, international residents and visitors in Spain and elsewhere in the EU can now see a doctor by video on weekends and early mornings, usually on the same day they book.

Spain is home to hundreds of thousands of English-speaking residents and receives millions of English-speaking visitors each year. Many have no regular doctor locally, are not yet registered with the public health system, or struggle to explain symptoms and medical history in Spanish. Weekends are a common pressure point: a prescription runs out on a Saturday, or a minor illness appears on holiday when local clinics are closed or fully booked.

“Health problems don’t wait for Monday, and for someone far from home, not being able to explain what’s wrong in their own language is a real barrier to safe care,” said Dr. Pedro Yelamo Vera. “Opening every day means people can speak to the same English-speaking doctor when they actually need to, instead of waiting or guessing.”

Consultations last 15 minutes and cost €50, with no subscription or membership. They cover minor urgent illness, chronic condition follow-up, medication and prescription reviews, blood test results, travel health and medical certificates. Where a prescription or basic certificate is clinically indicated after a genuine evaluation, issuing it digitally is included in the fee, along with an itemised invoice for insurers. Prescriptions and certificates are issued solely at the doctor’s discretion according to evidence-based medicine (EBM) guidelines.

“Continuity is the part people value most,” Dr. Yelamo Vera added. “Patients managing blood pressure, diabetes or thyroid conditions see the same doctor every time, so they don’t have to retell their whole history at every appointment.”

The practice holds a 5★ rating on Google and Doctoralia. It does not provide emergency care: anyone with chest pain, breathing difficulty or another life-threatening symptom should call 112 or go to the nearest emergency department. More guidance on when to choose the ER or an online doctor in Spain is available on the practice website.

Frequently asked questions

Is this real emergency care? No. Online consultations are for non-emergency, minor and chronic conditions. Anyone with chest pain, breathing difficulty or another life-threatening symptom should call 112 or go to the nearest emergency department.

Will I get a prescription or medical certificate? Where clinically appropriate, following a genuine evaluation, Dr. Yelamo Vera can issue an EU-valid e-prescription or a basic medical certificate. Neither is guaranteed before the consultation — it depends on the clinical assessment.

Do I need to speak Spanish? No. Consultations are available in English or Spanish, so patients can describe symptoms and history in their own language.

Can I book from outside Spain? Yes. The service is available to patients anywhere in Spain and the wider EU, and prescriptions are valid across the European Economic Area.
