The main objective of the program is to help educators that teach Social Emotional Learning (SEL) subjects to young children. This unique educational content was created by Sesame educators, psychologists, and other specialists in order to provide teachers with appropriate tools and instructions on how to pass this knowledge to their students.
Nopio was hired to develop a digitalized and user-friendly application based on classic paper-oriented content that could be easily managed, updated, and expanded over time. The whole project also included the design and implementation of an online platform that would allow schools to purchase access to it.
The project was therefore divided into two separate phases. The first one tackled the issues related to the management of content and creating direct access for the teachers to record their progress with the use of predefined weekly checklists. Business-related aspects were handled in the second phase. Nopio implemented a paid license system as well as access management at both district and school levels.
The first phase started with an in-depth analysis of the provided content. Nopio worked closely with Sesame in order to extrapolate data and the content management expectations. Based on the collected information, the developer team created a fully customized, easy-to-use, branded web application that was adjusted to the teachers’ needs and looked attractive to the young children who would see parts of the application during classes.
In the second phase, an exclusive license management feature was added alongside an onboarding workflow for both district and school administration faculties, which facilitated the management of teachers’ permissions.
