The Tianmushan Laboratory, which specializes in aerospace research, was unveiled in Yuhang district, Hangzhou, capital of East China’s Zhejiang province, on June 6.

The laboratory, which was established by the governments of Zhejiang, Hangzhou and Yuhang, focuses on the research of super-sonic civil airplanes and engines, high-performance aeronautical materials, and flight management.

The laboratory is the fourth provincial-level laboratory established in Yuhang following similar labs in Zhijiang, Liangzhu and Hupan.

The Tianmushan Laboratory will be key to the province’s plans to improve the innovation capabilities of its aerospace industry, officials said.
