Little Red Dumpling Makes $10,000 Donation To Australian Bush Fire Relief
Newmarket-based dumpling eatery offers its newest location in Coomera. In support of the relief effort for Australian bush fires, the company has donated $10,000.

Little Red Dumpling is pleased to announce that it has joined the efforts to provide relief in the aftermath of Australian bush fires. The company has donated a check for $10,000 in response to the needs of those affected by the fires. What is known colloquially as the ‘Black Summer’ began in June 2019 with several serious uncontrolled blazes. Throughout the summer, the southeast part of the country experienced hundreds of fires, which peaked during December and January. The major blazes have been contained and/or extinguished.

As of early March, the damages from the fires include 18. million hectares, 5,900 buildings destroyed (2.779 homes), and took the lives of 34 people. It is estimated that the fires killed one billion animals, with some endangered species facing extinction. In addition, the cost of dealing with the fires will exceed A$4.4 billion. There is also a significant loss of tourism revenues. The negative impact on air quality has affected Chile and Argentina.
